Inspiring the
Early Years.

One of my toughest and most fulfilling jobs in the world 'is being a mother'. Being a mum to my son and daughter has heavily influenced my choices and the work l do.  I commenced my professional journey as Primary Teacher and Early Childhood Educator. As a Kindergarten teacher and director  l found my role was centred around  providing a safe and nurturing environment for children as they make the transition from home to Pre-school. It continues to be an exciting journey as children learn through play and are scaffolded to an optimal level of development. Partnerships with parents are of extreme importance and form a large part of my professional training sessions and practice thus acknowledging that a child’s parents are his or her first teacher.

I furthered my studies with a Bachelor of Adult Education and Masters in Education and Psychology. As a Lecturer in Early Childhood l am able to see my academic role as pivotal as l have the opportunity to share experiences and create partnerships within the Early Childhood Sector. I have been fortunate to be invited to share my knowledge with VCAA and work on various projects centred around the Victorian Early Years Framework. I was fortunate to be invited to talk about our curriculum at Unimore University Reggio Emilia, and IVE, Hong Kong.  In 2019 I was invited to the EECERA Conference in Greece  where l presented on a topic l am passionate about ' Body Safety in children'. Stepping Forward Early Years Consultancy has allowed me to create a personalised approach and to use my knowledge to inspire the Early Years whilst also provide support to families.

Although I enjoy the tailored Professional development for educators we offer I also love the real conversations centred around what works for each setting what program planning and aesthetics work for each individual. In 2024 we have taken an exciting direction offering consultancy on various early years advisor groups and academic consultancy.​
